The wrenches have a 12-point ring on each end for gripping fasteners, and each ring is offset 75 degrees from the handle to provide maximum clearance for accessing recessed fasteners. They meet Deutsches Institut für Normung (DIN) 838 and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 10104, and are made of alloy steel for strength and durability with a chrome-plated finish for corrosion resistance. They range in length from 165 to 360mm. Box wrenches, also called ring spanners or box-end wrenches, have an enclosed ring on either one or both ends that fits snugly over a hexagon or square fasteners to provide stronger leverage than an open end wrench.
